Apollo Football Club is absolutely thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded $386,800 through the 2024–25 Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program (CRSFP) to deliver a long-overdue and transformational upgrade to our club facilities.
This is not just an exciting announcement — it's a game-changer.
Overdue, but Absolutely Worth the Wait
For years, our changerooms and amenities have served us well, but they are now in desperate need of expansion and modernisation. With our club growing in both numbers and inclusivity, the need for improved infrastructure has never been more urgent.
Thanks to this grant, we’ll be undertaking a complete rebuild of the existing changeroom section, which will include four dedicated player changerooms, a referees' changeroom, and upgraded toilet and shower facilities. This major upgrade will significantly improve comfort, functionality, and inclusivity — benefiting male and female players, juniors and seniors, as well as officials and visiting teams. It’s a huge leap forward in ensuring our facilities meet the demands of a growing, diverse football community. This is about building for the future and ensuring Apollo FC remains a welcoming and well-equipped space for the entire community.
A True Team Effort
This major achievement is the result of tireless work by our committee. From project planning to the detailed grant application, their efforts behind the scenes have delivered an incredible outcome for the club. Their vision and commitment have paved the way for this exciting new chapter in Apollo’s story.
We are also grateful to the South Australian Government and the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing for supporting grassroots sport and recognising the value community clubs like ours bring to the region.
In addition, we extend a special thank you to the City of Mount Gambier for contributing an additional $50,000 in grant funding toward this project. Their support helps ensure this much-needed upgrade becomes a reality.
Next Steps
Planning is now underway, and we’ll keep our members and supporters updated as the project progresses. We can’t wait to see this vision become a reality — and to celebrate together once it's complete.
