Kyra Kuchel Makes Club History in Senior Men’s A Grade Debut
A Proud day for apollo Football club
Sunday, 15 June 2025 marked a proud and historic day for Apollo Football Club, as Kyra Kuchel became the first female player to take the field in the club’s Senior Men’s A Grade team.
Stepping into the role of goalkeeper, Kyra slotted seamlessly into the squad and delivered a composed, confident performance, helping to shore up the team’s defence. Her calm presence under pressure and ability to rise to the occasion reflect her quality and character.
Adding to the occasion, Kyra also became the first female to score for Apollo’s A Grade side, after confidently converting a penalty in the 79th minute. The goal not only cemented her place in the club’s history but also marked her first-ever senior goal — a truly special moment.
Kyra’s achievement is a proud milestone for her, her family, and the entire Apollo community. She continues to set a great example for our younger players, showing what’s possible through commitment, passion, and love for the game.
From everyone at Apollo FC — congratulations, Kyra! You've made history, and we couldn’t be prouder.
